Saru Maas Bhoja or small fish stir fry is a dish probably all non-veg Assamese love to eat. It is a very quick but delicious dish . My whole family loves it. I enjoy Preparing this dish 🙂
Ingredients
- 200 gm small fish
- 2 nos onion (large) sliced
- 4-5 nos garlic cloves chopped
- 2 nos green chillies sliced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- mustard oil for frying
- salt to taste
- coriander leaves/Fitweed leaves (optional)

Instructions
- Sprinkle the fish pieces with half a teaspoon of the turmeric powder and salt .
- Heat mustard oil in a deep pan set over medium heat and half fry the fishes . Keep aside.
- In the remaining oil add onion, garlic, chillies, half tsp of turmeric and a little bit salt and fry until the onion gets brown. Do not over fry the onions.
- Now add the half fried fish to it and mix well. Let it be in the pan for 2-3 minutes or until the fishes are well cooked.
- Remove from pan to a serving dish.
- Garnish with coriander leaves or Fitweed leaves .
- Serve hot with rice.
